thats awesome! how on earth can they be outperforming 4890's and 285's when in crossfire (and not even properly OCd!!) when a single 285 cost the same as 3 4770's! I cant wait to get a new mobo and a 2nd 4770 now!

Easy:
4850 is 5% faster than 4770
4850 X2 is 15% faster than stock 4890
4770 CF would be slighly faster than a stock 4890

Now I'd say a oc'ed 900mhz ~ 925mhz to 1G 4890 will overtake and leave 4770 CF in the dust.

Yeah, but if you then OC the 4770s to 900/1000 from the stock 750/800 which is being used in that crossfire review I bet it'd give the OC'd 4890 a run for its money

Hmmm, what fan speed, and do you mean overclocked at running idle or overclocked and gaming?? mine sits idly on auto fan (~25-33%) clock'd at 875/1000 at around 55 Celcius, and gets upto temps around 65 when gaming if I up the fan a bit.

that was overclocked with the clocks i mentioned before at 100% gpu load (had furmark running in 1920x1080) fan at 60% as much faster gets extrememly loud.

Also do u have the reference design?

if it was at 100% load I think 65 degrees at 60% fan is ok for thr 4770, it certainly does run hot, I just put up with the fan noise and up it to 100% when playing big games

yeah mines the reference card, by XFX so its got the full card fan cover that dumps heat out of the case
