I thought I'd show you guys this card with the Arctic Cooling Accelero L2 PRO mounted.

It is really the first and only cooler designed with this card in mind. The HD4770 has the chip mounted really close to the back connector plate. Most "flower" style coolers will mount however suck really.

This cooler fits with no modding needed. It also, as with all AC coolers has an adjustable mount so you can move it to make the cooler align with the card properly.

As for performance it knocked a good 20°C off stress test loads, and roughly 10°C off typically gaming usage. As for idle temps with that will be differant to everyone. Me I'am not getting a vast idle improvement as this thing is resting on the bottom of my case but considering that it still does better than stock with a full 2 slots space to breath with.

Any other questions just ask.

* note this with the card will occupy 3 slots total.
* It could be used without the fan and only occupy 2 slots.
* At full 100% fan speed it is as quiet as the stock at 40%.
* To get the fan connector to work without the Molex adapter you need to jimmy off the little plastic piece that the old 2-pin connector fit into, just gently wiggle it off. I used the 3 pin connector. ( The yellow sensor wire wont be used of coarse but CCC will still adjust fan speed)

The temps at full stress and 930 gpu - 863 mem are 62C and 73C and without touching the fan speed. The bios version is VER011.022.003.006.032575 dated 07/15/09. I let you a screen of gpu-z. I hope you can help me, I think my card can do better than this. Thank you!!

YEs, I have the same problem. First I bought Sapphire HD 4770(red) and there wasn no problem with overclocking anything.
Than I bought second card and I got zhis crap of HD 4770 Artic Coolnig (BLUE PCB) and memory can't be overclocked over ~860Mhz. At 865Mhz green screen and only restart works.

Well, I read somewhere that mybe there is a BIOS BUg. Something about reading clocks. Becouse card from PowerColor PCS or PCB 4770 have the same problems, but for that card they found a solution but on this card do not work.
Anyway I think we need new BIOs for this card.
And this card(BLUE PCB) have a different vgpu controler, so BIOSes from previus version, or from ASUS TOP card will not work.
Name of the vgpu controler is uP6201BQ, memory controler is the same and even volt mod do not work for OC memory over 860Mhz. So, it is BIOS BUG.

Here is the link of PCS 4770 with OC problem, but they solved, not worked for me.

The Reference Powercolor has been working fine for me, I think I killed it a little but it has and still can (most time) do 1120 on the ram.

When I had my HD4770 (it died sadly....) I managed to get it up to 1100MHz but never ran any benchmarks. It was 100% and before I could get time to run my benches and get screens later that week, damn thing died! ;_; I loved my 4770. Beat the snot out my old Sapphire 4850 dual slot cooler!

Ya most benchmarks "claim" the 4850 beats it. Maybe at stock speeds MAYBE. But all this needs is a 256bit bus and overclocked and would get close to a 4870. Other wise it is for sure half way there when it is overclocked. Also the power it uses is daisies compared to the 55nm's.

Ok, so this card like low temps. I'm now doing 55°C Core and 68° Memory 100% load.

Those temps were with 880/1110 (+17%/+39%) stable. However under game usage I'm confident it will be fine at 895/1125.

Bring the temps down another 10° all around and I'm confident I could get 900+ on the core and close to 1200 Memory.

I can't wait for the 5770's ... Late october I hear, at $149 apiece I think they are going to go like hotcakes

From what I've hear it wont be much differant that these...which kinda makes sense.

Bump up to 1GB ram and 256 bit ? It shouldn't be much differant that a 4870 which will be similar priced.

Default 4770 bios flashing guides

i will be buying 2 powercolor 4770 512mb gDDR5 this week

i want to flash it to asus top bios and use smart doctor and OC it further

the problem is I never had any experience in flashing a video card.. will someone pls kind enough to write up a "step by step" procedure in flashing a 4770 card?

PS: ive looked everywhere but unfortunately i cant find one on the internet.. thanks and godbless..

and how much clock is safe to use 24/7, idle/load with the use of stock coolers no ram sinks

will it be able to reach 21k 3dmark06 score i want to beat my former 4850x2 who died on me yesterday..

thanks and hoping for a full detailed response.. GOD BLESS
