I also have one HD4770 GPU from XFX (non reference cooler) but I have been too lazy to post up the picture with validation. (Will do, I promise).

I need some advice and help.

What software do you guys use for overclocking the 4770 ? Rivatuner, ATi Tools or Ati Tray Tools ? Others?

If I flash the card with the Asus TOP BIOS will it be read in benchies and software as an Asus or will it still be recognised as the XFX ? Just curious.

How much max voltage is recommended for this GPU and what would be the safe range?

and last but most important, is there any guide on how to configure the GPU fan? I try to edit the values in Rivatuner and I can't. I would like the fan to be at 50% when at 50ºC but it waits untill it's 60ºC to be at 32%. A Step by Step guide would be appreciated.

btw. Rivatuner doesn't read the core speed correctly. It is at 250MHz in 2D mode (750MHz 3D mode) and displays 1700MHz. Impossible! Why this?

Thank you very much in advance.

I use CCC as once its Asus flashed the limit is lifted. I use GPUTool by Tech Power Up to stress.

As for the Bios yes it will say Asus in programs.

As for the fan speed adjusting I'm thinking maybe the XFX bios doesn't allow you too, as I've had no issues setting it with rules like that in various programs using the Powercolor and Asus Top Bios's.

Thanks for your answers. I guess I'll have to risk the BIOS update (change). I'm a bit scared but what the hell, we're here to OC right?

btw. The promised picture, so now I can be added to the list.

I've been thinking about getting this particular build. Now before anyone makes any comments about "what would posses me to build this rig?" look at my sig.

warning to read prior to questioning my build/answering questions...
1-This build will be my new pc that must last me 4-5 years.

2-My current sig is starting to show it's age and I don't want to put anymore money into getting a used mobo. I've even given up on getting the dual 6-core opteron processors for this mobo.. cause they seem to have disappeared.

3-Also, I have nothing but bad blood for nvidia (and there crap). So I would like to stick it to them by going "red".

4- The G34 socket will be nice but I don't like waiting for new hardware and it'll cost to much money.

5- 5800 series cards are going faster than a male rabbit on viagra.

6- I want 3 gpu's + a new system that will cost under $800. So this is why the 4770's (and there rave reviews) have won me over instead of 4850 X3.

I don't know much about DFI boards since this will be my first DFI board...DFI LP DK 790FXB-M2RSH but I hope it can handle the cards. I hope the bios will allow me to set it at 8x/8x/8x (there isn't much of a hit between 8x & 16x)

But the main reason I'm here is because I have only found 1 review about how a 4770 X3 preforms. I still plan on gaming with my 3 monitors using SoftTH (which is the main reason why I want 3 cards, 1 card per monitor). I'm currently using dual 8600 GTS to game at 3072 x 768, I'd like to game at 3840 x 1024.

I know I can get a 5800 series card, but I know that someone will hack eyefinity to work with the 4800 series AND NO ONE SEEMS TO HAVE A 5800 SERIES IN STOCK. If no one ever hacks eyefinity to work with the 4770/4800 series then I will still have my softTH to handle my surround gaming.

Since this club is 4770 members I was hoping someone can answer some questions for me.

1-It seems to handle games well at 1280 x 1024 but what about when you turn on 4x AF (I don't care about AA)?

2- Will ati stream work well with 4770 x3?

3- Does increasing the pci-e speed in the bios (from 100 mhz to 110 mhz) effect the cards performance in any way?

4- Is there any other reviews about a 4770 x 3?

5- What is the total power draw for 4770 X3?

Thank you for our help in advance. And I hope to be part of the club by December.

Behold unto me! I possess the Blue flag! I have seen the top of the mountain and you will worship me as though I were a god! *cough*

Erm... I mean... the 4770!

Seriously though, this card destroys the 9800 GTX+ I had before. On STOCK clock levels, it auto-set Fallout 3 to Ultra High automatically, whereas the Nvidia card mentioned above only set it to High. Take that Good for nothing Greenies! (yeah that sounded lame...)

As you can see, I has overclocked it a little. CCC only lets you go so high so I went as high as possible.

That's why I can't wait to get my hands on 3 4770's for my surround gaming.

Yeah that's my next step for this card. buy two more and get a tri-crossfire capable board. And probly a thousand watt power supply just because 850 wouldn't cut it. ^^
