only 3 people so far who voted 4890 actually even posted. 1, even said that after he realized I can't crossfire the 4850X2 is better.

STOP HIT AND RUN POLL VOTING! Actually comment please? You can't just say the 4890 is better and move along.

4850X2's winning as far as I'm concerned since there are very few voters actually posting.

Blitz6804 runs 2x 4870X2(quadfire) and I never hear him complaining about it.

Any proof to back that up? I had heard microstutter had been all but been completely eliminated in the 4850X2 and 4870X2. I am curious about this still.

Not quite true. Sapphire provided drivers for the 4850 X2 for the first 3 months of its existence (Nov. - Jan. 2008). Ati officially supported the 4850 X2 since it's Cat 9.1 drivers in Jan. The problems were not many, as you suggest. Sapphire did it's best to modify ,at the time, ati drivers to work with the 4850 X2. Some owners had a hard time installing them. All current ATi drivers fully support the 4850 X2 and it has been flawless for some time now.

Personal beef? Did you own the 4850 X2? Actually most games have multi-gpu support. And last the 4850 X2, although can be a little loud, runs pretty cool.

Microstuttering is so rare, I still can't believe ppl keep bringing it up. There are so many ppl on this forum running sli / crossfire and you hardly ever hear about microstuttering. I've done countless CF configurations of 2,3,4 gpus and it only happened once. It was while playing Left 4 Dead. Disabled v-sync in the options, problem solved. All of the other 9 games I'm currently playing, never had any problems.

All the ATI cards are great and either the 4890 or 4850 X2 will be a fine choice.
