guys,

Read the entire thread! I will fill you in again. In windows XP there is a problem. The CCC shows crossfire and second adapter is disabled. I score'd 19,200 with 1 x 4890. I put the other in and score 13,200. There is a problem. It is NOT LIMITING MY CPU! It works fine in windows7 seeing I have a second HDD. CCC shows crossfire and second adapter enabled. I score 21,200 in windows7.

The problem is the second adapter is not linked in XP. Also I now have a major problem with MOM and CLI file. CCC will not work. Google search shows netframework issue but I have each one installed with service packs. this ATI software blows. I am so frustrated so sorry about being irratated! LOL

I tried playing with some settings tonight. Raised my NB speed 200 mhz at a time. For each 200, my 3dm06 score went up 150 points or so. This had a minimal affect on my performance in crysis, average framerates stayed the same.
Raw CPU speed did not increase my crysis FPS either, but of course it helped the 3dm scores.
I would say your 3dm06 score is very good. I can only score in the 21k range in windows XP at 3.7ghz and I have basically the same CPU as you (720 with 4 cores)

I must say, I was expecting a bit more from these cards..

I would try a system restore to a point before the registry cleaning.
Should that fail a reformat is probably needed.

If you have already verified that both GPU's have the same BIOS rev#...then you must have a driver conflict or something... Have you tried using another CCC or driver than you are currently?

I was thinking that. One of the moderators has a 2 x 4850 and he used 9.4 drivers with 9.2 ccc or vise versa(earlier in this post.. maybe you?). The problem I have now is I keep getting the mom and cli implementation but I do not get it when I install drivers separately and CCC separately.

I am very close to returning both cards. I spent close to $500 and never had this problem with Nvidea. My mobo is crossfire certified so I really wanted to get this to work. BTW, I do have an 850W PSU so that is not an issue.

Oh wow... I'm not looking forward to this headache when my second 4890 Arrives. I was hoping to get 45-60fps in Crysis with AA and AF maxed enthusiast @1680x1050. Maybe that isn't going to happen

OP: I would completely start over. Install XP using one 4890. Don't install any drivers, the screen should at least work without them. Then install all of the service packs and follow it by installing the second 4890. Then install your drivers. Try 9.6. If that doesn't work, do this same process bu with 9.5, etc.

I know that sounds like a waste, but theoretically, it should work. Everything will be flawless for the the cards. If they don't work then, it's time to give ATI a shout. If they say contact Diamond, say no. This is an ATI issue.

Hope that helps.

45-60FPS in Crysis maxxed @ 1680 * 1050 with max AA & AF?

Dream on...

I get 30-50FPS in Crysis all Maxxed @ 1920 * 1200 with 4x AA though

AA rapes your FPS in Crysis!

I am using the 9.6 cat.
