Default question about 4870 and 4890

I will be buying my first good rig very soon and this is what i know im getting so far, my budget is ~$800

E8400 and ud3p combo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.205144

CM 600W amba psu and cm 690 combo
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboD...t=Combo.208535

Western black 640gb 32mb cache
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16822136319

lg 22x dvd/cd burner, this part doesnt really matter its just the only burner in stock
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16827136147

right now with shipping its $565 so i have about 250-260ish left to spend

my question is should i get a $150 4870
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814150395

with this ram
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820227453

and a dark knight to overclock my e8400 to around 3.8ish

or a $200 4890 with cheaper ram, like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231166

basically asking if the 4890 is worth the $50 extra, and if better ram like the ocz lv blades would make a significant performance boost when overclocked compared to the gskills, and if overclocking my e8400 like .7 or .8 ghz would give me that extra fps boost. im using the rig for mostly gaming and right now have a 19 inch monitor but will be getting a 22 inch soon

Personally, I would go for the 4890 with the 'cheaper' ram. I wouldnt consider G Skill cheap though..

so u think itll be better to get a 4890 and have a stock cpu cooler? how much difference is there between a 4890 and a 4870 at 1680x1050?

imo my opinion a lot of stuff needs to change in the setup. first off, get a corsair, second, get a better cpu. dont get me wrong that was is fine but with your budget you could do a 955.
now, regarding your question, the 4890 1gb vs the 4870 1gb is actually a decent gain. the stock cooling is perfect if you dont mind it being a little loud.
at 1680.1050 the diff varies for the game, but expect maybe a 10fps difference. you will be getting 60+ anyways...
hope this helps

You could over clock your 4890 quite a bit more than the 4870, I'd say it'd go to about 285 performance.
