I just recieved mine and it is identical to yours.
__________________I find it hilarious how a few people complained that the VRM cooler I designed for my 4870/90 sink sets were "too small", yet XFX's engineers designed VRM sink for this card that is essentially identical in size and design to mine. Obviously good engineering rules the roost, not somebody saying something "looks too small". ![]() /rant Anyways, card runs great. 63C idle, 74C load. Perfectly acceptable load temps IMO. Card is fairly quiet. The only fans in my entire system are two Gentle Typhoons and I can't hear the 4890 above them even when at load. Definitely won't be doing any OC'ing whatsoever until I get better cooling on this card though. I'll probably go with the musashi like you did and throw a set of my sinks on it. I would highly suggest ditching the stock 100mm fans on the Musashi, and switching them out for a pair of 92mm Gentle Typhoons. Trust me, your card will thank you. The stock Musashi fans are loud for the amount of air they push, and have pitifully low static pressure.

Only 11C difference from idle to load??? Hmm... not buying.

Mine idles at 57C and on load it goes to 74-76C with a mild overclock of 950/1150.

Wasn't trying to call anyone out, just 11C difference would suggest not much load or really good water cooling.

Link to these suggested fans? Also, will I ever be able to crossfire if I upgrade late(2.5 slot vs. full 3)?

If you want to crossfire with a Musashi cooler, then your board has to have two slots between the PCI-E slots as the cooler makes your card larger than two slots.
I'm sure you know, your board can't do it as it only has one PCI-E x8/x16 slot. ![]() It would have to be like this:

![]() All it suggests is that I have the fan control set to auto, and when the fan is in silent mode the cooler doesn't cool very well, and as soon as the fan spins up for load it does... What you are saying about the delta would apply with water cooling or if I was running the fan at a fixed speed, but with a variable speed fan the meaning of looking at idle/load delta pretty much goes right out the window. ![]() Also, comparing his numbers to my numbers doesn't really mean anything either, as I have a fairly high room temp since I live in the desert. In that case the idle numbers would show a greater difference than the load numbers based on room temp, so that is most likely where his lower idle temp is coming from. Quote:
![]() Anyways, don't stress if you can't replace right away, the stocks are fine, but I highly suggest doing it when you have the ability. I would personally get the highest speed one and use a controller: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16835185087
