Default XFX 4890 Unboxing and OC(Lots of pictures!)

Ok so 6 days ago my 4870 512MB sold and I ordered my XFX 4890 XT 1GB from TigerDirect for $211 shipped(tax is a beeotch so no newegg )

It arrived late today(I saw 2 UPS trucks drive by in the morning and afternoon ).

Anyways, was really excited. Here's the unpacking pics

OC/temprature results in next post.

Just pulled out of outer box:

thanks. added a screencap w/ it OC'd and stable.

What benchmarks should I run? I already noticed a MASSIVE increase in performance pre-OC in FO3 over my old 4870 512MB

I seem to have the "cheaper designed" cooler. I'm liking the separate MOSFET heatsink and the black PCB tho. The MOSFETs still get REALLY hot. 90c+. They haven't once seen 100c yet thankfully even in 1280x720 4xaa furmark and OC'd.

Nice card, but I'm going to wait for the XFX 4890 Black Editions to make it to the USA. 1000/4000 (1000x4) out of the box, I'm sure i could squeeze more speed out of that memory . Nice as ASUS is, I'm not sure I like their graphics cards, to many problems with OCing mine and then a couple weeks later the OC is no good.

When it comes to ATI, based on what I'm reading, it looks like XFX got it right .

Sexy video card, Congrats and enjoy it. Put up some Crysis WarHead and 3dmarks. Hell you got a serious rig there especially running on a 21inch monitor
