I got my XFX 4870 512mb 3 weeks ago, first it was buzzing during 3D app's but i managed to turn that down by moving some cables away from the card.
__________________Today it had a random crash and did some VPU recovery, anyway, i decided to run AtiTool and use artifact test, at stock speeds it has many artifacts, beeps every second or so. I want to RMA it but paid by credit card so i'm unsure how they refund, i'd prefer a refund cause i might aswell get the 4890 ![]() Anyone used ebuyer before?

ebuyer are decent with refunds.
As for your credit card, they literally credit your balance. As for the specifics, I don't know as I've personally only reported a memory card reader as defective, it was only a fiver and they shipped out a new one for free. And make sure your temperatures aren't the issue, cos if they are, there might not be anything wrong with the card, just with your airflow or something.

yes RMA it. You paid for a graphics card that shoudl run @ stock settings without artifacts. Contact your vendor first to see if you are to do the RMA through them or through XFX. If they tell you to contact the manufacturer XFX is a great company and should be able to take care of your gpu problem by either fixing the one you currently have or replacing it with another 4870.

If they work like most places, a refund also comes along with a restocking fee. At Newegg, that fee is 15%. Watch out for that, it'll make the 4890 upgrade about $20-25 more than you were planning.

Good news, they are coming to collect the card tomorrow, when i order my 4890, which is better XFX or MSI?
__________________I've been told even though the XFX is 30mhz clock speed lower, it's the better company and i should go with them... However the defective 4870 i had was XFX so i'm unsure... Ps) This 4890 is going to be overkill for my cpu and monitor (1280x max) haha
