Aside from the aesthetic issue of having the central monitor different to the two flanking panels (different housings, etc...) getting three monitors that are all the same model calibrated to be 100% the same is tough enough from complaints I've been hearing so mixing could potentially be even worse. Every panel is just that little bit different.

You might be well served by getting a hardware colour calibration device (the Spyder 3 is rather pricy, there are cheaper ones available) in order to do it.

Making the panels all the same height should be a case of shoving some magazines under the stands to find the right depths, then half an hour in the woodwork shop.

...

Personally, when I finally bite on EyeFinity... which might be a while as there are noises of 'EyeFinity 2' coming 'soon' (soon, of course, being relative and completely useless in terms of actual release timings for any new computer hardware)... I'll go triple Dell U2410, colour calibration hardware and whatever-EyeFinity-card-is-best at the time. Because as nice as it would be to have three Dell 3008's, at £1100 each, I can almost buy three U2410's for the price of one 3008. And I swore after purchasing my 2405's that I was never gonna spend more than £500 on a monitor ever again.

Yeah the thing is, with the Eyefinity they all need to be the same res. I get what you mean though, when I am at my computer and using it I am not really going to notice something like a .2 height diff in my center monitor.

I for sure will be posting some pics though.

My desk, is going to be so crowded with monitor love!

Yea, I was glad when I read the dell's had adjustable height.

However, I scored some unexpected cash for my birthday on monday (dear god im 28) so it's the reason I went this route. There were some other hardware choices I could have made, but really, i figured this would give me the best gaming experience. And if not, well it's still going to be awesome.

5870 is on the way.. should be here tomorrow.. after that.. I'll set about acquiring additional monitors.. the roommate has a 22" that he isn't using.. so I'll be able to try eyefinity x2 right away.. I'll be sure to post some pictures if I can find my camera.

Default [PCP] AMD Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity Performance Testing

Quote:
AMD Radeon HD 5870 Eyefinity Performance Testing

After my review of the AMD Radeon HD 5870 graphics card last month that featured a heavy dose of information and videos about AMD's new Eyefinity technology, the one single request I have received the most is for performance results using these games and a multi-monitor configuration. I purposefully avoided any types of benchmarks in our first go-around with the technology and instead focused on trying to showcase the user experience that using 3 monitors for gaming can create.

Well enough email barged through my inbox that I decided I would graph-up the results that I already had from our initial testing and share it with you here.

Also i would like to note that Hardocp is having an Eyefinity challenge in texas. I posted the link in the OP for all interested. If only i wasn't in new york i'd def be going
