Default 5870 Crysis AA scaling

I know Ati said they improved the back-end which does the AA/AF for the 5xxx series but I was not expecting this much improvement. I'm thinking there's some kind of glitch rather than the card actually doing this well.

I ran crysis on high at 1920x1080 resolution but once without AA/AF, once with 4x/16x and once with 8x/16x (all AA was supersampling btw). As you can see in the pictures I got a 3fps decrease going to 4x/16x but nothing going to 8x/16x.

So is it normal to have only an incredible 3fps drop or is something wrong and its not doing AA properly?

I'm using windows 7 x64 btw.

60fps in Crysis is easy using DX9 and only "high" settings.

Impressive considering that's about what I get at those settings with two GTX260 216's in SLI.

If I didn't have an SLI board, I'd be all over a 5870.
