updated OP with BF2 benchmarks. Thanks for the tip grunion!

BF2 has some pretty bad menu issue's. as well as the HUD is stretched, but the actual graphics are in widescreen 5040x150 and it looks and plays great! i actually felt like i was really driving a tank lol
