You might have no issues because you dont have an ati card from the fifth series.
The only people having this issue have the HD5770. So obviously its a fifth gen error, the question is, is it only for the 5770. I will be getting my HD5850 in a few days so i will be able to say if it has the same problem as well, seeing that borderlands is game Nr.1 on my list

I was getting some weird graphics, so I came across this thread on ATI forums that said to rename borderlands.exe to bioshock.exe. After I did that the Grey graphics got fixed, and it feels like the game runs a litter better. Worth a try for your problem.

What da...that's the weirdest fix I've ever heard. I get those gray graphics too! (But my fps is fine...I average about 58).

Going to try this when I get home, thanks.

I thought it was pure BS when I read it also. I was shocked when I went back into the game and it was fixed, just by renaming the exe.
