Default Borderlands + ATI drivers + Windows 7 x64 issues

As the title states, I am having some weird issues with this game alone (well at least only noticeable in this game). Whenever I freshly reboot my computer and play borderlands, the game runs crap (30fps or less). HOWEVER, if I reinstall the ATI drivers, and jump right back into the game (it doesnt require reboot) the game runs at 60 fps!! What the heck is going on? Could windows be loading different drivers after reboot? (When reinstalling the drivers it tells me I have the most current version.) This is all a fresh install and I havent changed drivers since no new ones have been out. And like I said, all other games run fine as far as i can see, only this game has this unique issue.

*EDIT*I am playing right now, but I will restart my computer and see if some setting in CCC changes upon reboot and somehow is affecting my performance.

Sounds like you have a driver issue.
Did you move from a nVidia card to the 5770? If so did you remove all drivers with driver sweeper in safe mode and then reinstall all ATI drivers in normal mode?

Not appropriate for here, as this is not a shady torrent forum.

Go and play the big man somewhere else that will be impressed by talk of illegally downloading games.

I have noticed the same thing. I have absolutely crappy frame rates when I know this card can take the game no problem!

Ah...then if you also have this problem, and I know you have already cleared drivers via driver sweeper then it must be the ATI driver itself....

I guess its one of the perks of having a new card...

They are not entirely unrelated. In other words, your post may not be as irrelevant as you think. (I have no idea, personally).

Yea it did it again. Just started it up this morning. Checked CCC and all settings are the same as they were last night. Nothing has changed and it runs crappy again. Xeb, try reinstalling the drivers. It shouldnt have to reboot and then just jump in the game and see the difference if there is any. It is a HUGE difference for me.

And as I said in the first post, this is all a brand new setup. All has been put together and had a fresh install. So not like I had different drivers or conflicting versions.
