Okay well i dont want to spend money on 5000series, and by the time i am willing to, the 6000series might be out. So my plan is to hopefully hold out until the 6000series.

Do you think this will matter? maybe i will use my extra 8 vram heatsinks on them that i got with my zalman gpu cooler.

RAM does not produce enough heat to disrupt the GPU's functionality. Unless you plan to overvolt them, there's really no need for direct cooling of them - case airflow should be enough. If you have them available though, ram sinks might earn you 10 or 20 extra MHz on your memory.

alright, now how about choosing 1GB of memory to crossfire with my 512mb? Will there be any benefit?
__________________Also will putting them in crossfire affect my current GPU's overclock? @ uNeec, that second one with the one slot radeon cooler that is red, sucks i have that card and temps were soaring well into 80C. although only way i could try fire is for 1 of the cards to be a single slot, or else my 3rd pcie x16 gets blocked.

It will use only 512MB. I personally like to go with similar card once i go CF.

![]() Nope - the 512MB will hold back the 1GB. Also, the CF overclock will only be less than what you're currently at if your second card doesn't clock as high as your current one.

are you saying that about using the same brand, as in i should go diamond for the second card because i already have a diamond 4850?

Brand doesn't matter - I think his choice was more based on wanting symmetry. I actually traded off a higher clocking 4870 for a lower one because I wanted matching heatsinks (then again, I'm sort of OCD).
