Default 58xx pcie 2.0

I'm just wondering, will the 58xx use the full bandwidth of pcie 2.0? Does running it in pcie 1.1 affect its performance compared to running it in pcie 2.0?

Not at all will the 5870 fill the 2.0 bandwidth here is the scoop

Pci 2.0 is twice as fast as Pci 1.0 So pci 16 2.0 is 32X. Pci 16 1.0 is 16X. Pci 8 2.0 is 16x. Pci 8 1.0 is 8. As long as your pci slot is a 16 1.0 or 8 2.0 you are fine.

I looked up your board and you have a X16 slot, you are fine and don't need to worry.

My 5870 used the whole x16 2.0
If i knocked it to x8 2.0 or x16 1.0 i would loose performance.
not a lot, but around 2%

Ok thanks for the reply guys. But i think i might as well update my mobo and cpu to something a bit more decent first before the video card because they will bottleneck the 58xx cards for sure.
