It'll definitely be worth it, but you might want to save up some for a stronger card. I know from experience how demanding it is to drive a 1080P large-format screen, AA and a good framerate are a must.

@stock and with current driver the 5770 performs about on par w/ a 4870 1GB. OC'd it can meet the 4890 w/ ease. Either is acceptable for 1080P 2x+AA 8x+AF but newer games will be coming out that will be more demanding, that's the only reason I recommend something stronger perhaps.

edit: for those who say it won't be a big upgrade:
I went from a 4870 512MB(faster than a 4850) to a 4890, and things that were previosuly unplayable, were playable at last. FO3 would choke w/ 2xAA maxed out @ 1920x1080, CoD4 got rough even sometimes w/ a lil AA, Crysis V.High became more than just a slideshow, etc.

Just the 5770 Overclocked: 4890 > 5770 > 4870

People forget that the 4870 can also be overclocked. So it is only fair to show overclocked cards to overclocked cards IMO.

Keep in mind I own a 5770 (in my HTPC) so I do have some hands on experience with it.

Isn't a good OC'd 5770 better than a average OC on a 4890? Not to mention all the features the 5770s sports.

my rig

= FO3 does not choke @ 2x aa on ULTRA (vanilla no mods)
COD 4 never had fps issues
Crysis v.1.2 V. High no AA was still playable (average of 16-18 FPS but i guess "playability" is subjective..

moving to a GTX 275 (>=< 4890), things were noticeably smoother!
