So I am having some issues with my 5770, nothing terrible, but annoying. When my card is at stock clocks, all is well, it works just fine, except it only underclocks to 400/1200, not 157/300 like its supposed to. When I overclock it, even if only 5Mhz on either core or the memory, it suddenly underclocks to 157/300, which wouldn't bother me, except that when I drag a window around on my desktop (it did this in vista and is doing it in 7 as well) my 2nd monitor starts to flicker, it looks like what is on my primary monitor is showing up for 1 frame or something. Nothing is happening to my primary monitor, just my 2nd monitor. Do you guys think this is from the video card underclocking, immature drivers, a bad card, or something else? I don't know what it is, but my card seems stable during games, but drives me nuts doing other stuff. Also, is there a way to disable the automatic underclocking? Just in case that is what is causing the issue I am having.

You can't disable the under clocking, but you can force specific speeds via CCC profiles or bios modding.
The under clocking happens when there is no load on the card (power play), normal.

Right, I'm just confused why it only underclocks to 400/1200 when the card is at stock and then as soon as it has the slightest overclock it starts underclocking to 157/300. Device Manager is saying version is 8.660.6.0 from 10/6/2009, just got it off AMDs site last week or so under win7 64bit>radeon>5700 series, file was "ATI Radeon HD 5800/5700 Recommended Graphics Driver"

Restart doesn't help, I've been having this problem since I first tried any OC on it right after I got it. I'll check out the 9.11 beta, didn't even know it was out

Edit: Also, what are people using to OC their 5700/5800 series cards? I've been using CCC, I've heard some people were using an MSI utility, could that possibly make a difference?

I just installed the 9.11 beta drivers and I am having crap show up on my 2nd monitor when I am dragging a window, when I switch between programs, open programs and close programs. I have no problems on my main monitor, whether I have the 2nd one enable or disabled. I am guessing it is a just a bug for the time being, and in the grand scheme of things, a pretty minor one.

Its the same, its mostly black bars that appear and disappear right away. While window dragging and scrolling down a webpage they are fairly frequent. Other times its just a few of them appear and disappear really quickly. Maybe 5 to 25 pixels high, and not just in the same spot on the screen.
