Default Installing 4870 without screws

Will it be a problem? My friend's case (which sucks) uses a screwless design so it was impossible to get any screws in. The screwless design also sucked although it managed to slightly hold the card up. The card would slowly droop down like 1 / 8 inch but wouldn't fall out.

Is the card really heavy? It might be a good idea to brace it somehow, ziptie or something, if it is really heavy, but for single slot lighter cards I wouldn't say a screw would be necessary.

It sorta is- it takes up 2 slots and is quite large.

But the only way it seems to be zip-tie-able is via the heatpipe, which probably wouldn't be a good idea wouldn't it?

Sorry I don't, I did it for a friend's build and he lives on the other side of town
And it's not noticeable by picture.

Usually the screw holes are still usable even with the tool-less systems
If not, I would take a zip-tie and loop it through some of the extra grill slots on the 2nd expansion slot:

Hey i know exactly what you are talking about and dealt with it both on my own 4870 and the 260GTX i had before

A ziptie on the heatpipe should be fine just as long as you don't put a lot of weight on it etc

Just do the ziptie job and watch to make sure you aren't moving the cooler off the core etc

Be careful

if the case has a lip on the side next to the card slot shield, you can wedge it with something I suppose..thats my only thought

Doesn't the card heat to like 90 degrees sometimes though? Won't the pipes melt the plastic overtime? and won't tieing to it make the heatsink shift off the actual core overtime? just a thought.
