Happened to me when i installed Need for Speed Shift..installed Physx crap then when i uninstalled it the game wouldnt boot anymore. Gave me a Physx error so i just reinstalled the physx

If I where you I'd go RAGE'ing crazy because I get bloat-ware I can't use (I like PhysX since I can use it).

Just like when installing a game that then requires Ga... I really wanna use that Ho... no... no infractions... keep it cool...

Games for windows live... POS like that shouldn't be installed if I don't want it.
The same goes for PhysX as in your case.
Would you like to have a smoker in your car if you didn't smoke just because you had that car smoke lighter? NO!
Do you want PhysX that you can't use but it installs anyway just because it came with the game? STILL NO!
Even though you didn't say if it came with a game or not in this case.

Windows 7 doesn't install PhysX. So no, you didn't "just" install Windows 7 and it was there. A game you installed did. 3 games that I have, install it: Unreal Tournament 3, Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway, and Medal Of Honor: Airborne. Any of those, by chance?

some games now days install physx stuff if the game supports it, but you cant use it unless you have physx hardware

nfs shift and race on. There's an icon for physx in control panel.

Shift requires Physx to be installed. That is where it has come from. No Physx installed no NFS Shift. It requires physxLoader.dll be installed to even start the game.
