As you've noted it's there because a game you installed requires phys-x to run.

The installed phys-x driver can enable software (cpu) or hardware-level (gpu) phys-x, depending on what's in your rig.

You're best off leaving it there even if you have no games/benchies on your machine that will be trying to use it. If nothing tries to use it, it doesn't do anything anyways. It's just another driver on your box, like the thousands of others that are installed and (the vast majority of which are) sitting idle right now.
