Default Got some money from lotto ticket

Got lucky on a scratch off, gonna build a system off of new egg. Going with a gigabyte 770 board, 4gb DDR3 1333, x3 710, but video card im sticking with my 17in CRT so im looking at the 4850 or 4870 but dont want overkill for 12x10 res. Lotto Ticket is 800 bucks total, and with it im also getting Windows7 Home Premium 64bit so that factors into cost. So for 12x10 would you say 4850 or 4870 or recomend another card that does a good job also at this res. CSS, WOW, COD4 SP, COD5 SP, COD2 MP, Crysis MP. Thats what im after at 12x10. Also some older games like CODUO MP, and GTASA.

Also has to last sevral years at least if I need it to, even at reduced settings thats why im buying 7, and a tri core and 4gb of ram on DDR3.

I think you'll be happy with the 4870, you could always get a 5770, though. That will ensure DX11 support for future games.

You should never stick with a 17in CRT if money is available. A good LCD, or even a nice sized CRT if you must, really improves the gaming experience. At least imho.

Other than that I pretty much agree with what you are grabbing. A 4850 is a good choice at that res and will be able to dominate any game you throw at it, even the newest.

At that res 512 will be more than sufficient. I use 512 on my 1080p monitor and it works just fine.

512MB. I'd stretch a bit the budget and get a x3 720 'cus it's Black Edition.

4850.

They are a bit cheaper aren't they? And it would definitely be my choice hands down.
