The most viable solution would be to reseat the heatsink with some AS5,that should drop your temp down a few c. Exactly how hot are we talking? What is your idle and load temp?

Also have you scanned it for artifacts?

This here would be good for your card. your temps are way to high, I know ATI runs hot but there is a limit.

That's certainly far too hot, I'd try what the one of the previous posters said. Take off the stock cooler, clean any remaining thermal compound and apply some fresh stuff such as Artic Silver 5 or OCZ Freeze.

However, if the card has not been long purchased then I would recommend you return it to the place where you bought it from or do an RMA through the cards manufacturer.

You could also invest in aftermarket cooling for the card, it would be miles better than the stock cooling.

You should also make some profiles for your card.. If you have at least one, set the idle clockspeeds to 500mhz gpu/250mhz mem, and the fanspeed to 30% It's not audible but it certainly cools a lot better. And as others have said, reaseat the HS with some proper thermal paste It should do wonders. If not, you can always RMA it then.
