ATI Radeon HD 5970 review: Uncompromising Monster

As it has been initially planned, AMD has just launched a new member in their ATI Radeon HD 5x00 family. This time it is a solution for those users who need ultimate performance at any price.

I think that nvidia will need a x2 before it overtakes the 5970. From estimates the 5970 should be 12k GPs and 30k GTs up on a single GT300.

The 5970 will be, how should I say this... "performing quite adequately" for some time.

I wouldn't pay $800+ for one though. Mine came to $692 with shipping and that was more than enough.

erm...bitter much? My point was that they are correct, some want that performance "at any price", and it pertains to the review in that it directly illustrates a point stated in said review. mmk?

I'll be going now, I guess. Sorry for the input.

...it's just a thread. Let people have their say.

Mine being that the pricing of the card makes sense to me. It's brand spanking new and stupidly powerful. Watch the price fall steadily over the coming months, especially after xmas.
Well done ATi (amd?), you've just made nVidia want to play catch up even more. I'll reserve judgement there though - nVidia could have a beast...
