When My friend trys to run super pi he gets an error message stating "NOT CONVERGENT IN SQUR05" I have no idea what this means but i know this version works so any help anybody has to give would be greatly appreshated. Thanks.

Means his system isnt 100% stable.
Convergence is what the program looks for when computing the numbers of Pi. Mathematically they are SUPPOSED to converge, but if the cpu is the least bit unstable, it cannot calculate it properly.

If his temps are good, then tell him to try one or both of the below options:
1. Raising voltages (CPU and ram volts 1 increment) 2. Loosen memory timings by a hair.
