Working on OCing the first machine I ever built went from a 2.0ghz P4 mx440 256mb to a beastly 3.2 GHZ HT P4 2GB 7900gs AGP beast lol trying to break the 14k mark ATM. I give this comp as a starter comp to my friends that wanna start playing games. It Pwns older games and holds its own with newer games, for now. Prolly for not much longer lol.

I remember this thread. I could have made it to the top but I got tired of messing with it. That was a year ago now.

its a fun and cheap way to overclock and compete for the top, without spending thousands, i just bid on a waterblock for this beast even tho right now load temps are at only 50c @3.3Ghz (its a bastid to oc anymore) but I figure that and some better ram and 17k should be easily attained. for what maybe 100$? (the waterblock is like 6$)

Man..! I was JUST about the break into the top ten & my agp XFX 7900GS died on me!! I never even got the chance to OC my system ANY! I ~REALLY~ wanted to see how far I could had pushed my stock old-school P4 3.06 HT & PC1066 RDRAM. Oh well, 11th is ok (at all stock speeds) ...

Now thanks to dmhnc, I got my agp XFX 7900GS sent for RMA & since they didn't have anymore, they replaced it to a PCI-E XFX 8800GS Alpha Dog for FREE! That was cool.

So now, sadly I don't believe I will be able to break the top ten anytime soon.

If you notice, I am running with RDRAM, not SDRAM, which is called RAMBUS. It is not as widely used as SDRAM because it is quite expensive. Since I'm using the highest speed RDRAM of PC1066, it runs as fast or if not faster than PC3200 SDRAM. That's what's unique about my old system. I would only assume if you were to run PC3200 in yours, it then would hopefully get up to my score, barely. But I really don’t know since I don’t use SDRAM anymore. I really wanted to see the OC’ing potential of this RDRAM...

I hope that answers your question.

Weird, I only score about 300 points lower than you, with my stock clocked dell rig and a 7600GT.
