Update... figured out how to oc the 7950 GTX. OC stable at 2572 MHz and 7950GTX @ 600/783. Not bad for a 18 month old lappy since stock is 2.15GHz and gpu is 575/700.

Now at 5857 3dMark06
http://service.futuremark.com/orb/re...0&UID=13469268

There's also still some headroom left on the gpu to work with.

Got my lappy Jan 07:
Dell Inspiron e1705
nVidia 7900gs go 256mb, OCed
Core 2 Duo T7200, 2 @ 2.0Ghz ( can't OC )
2GB RAM, 667Mhz DDR2
Vista Business

I don't remember my video card OCs because I OCed it a couple weeks after I got the laptop, which was over a year ago now.

Even though ~4000 isn't great by today's standards, I can still play every game I own on it, and fairly well, including Crysis (albiet at 1024x768, Medium settings).

Default 8817 3DMark06

Got 8817 at default settings with second 7950GTX installed and all apps running including browser to this thread.

I love how in an Alienware site they say the M9750 is so old tech. and obsolete.

Was getting around 5200 with single GPU so the second GPU made a big difference.

Crysis plays perfectly at 1920 x 1200 with everything set to "high".

Default New 3DMark06 scores

I used clockgen to overclock my 2GHz proc up to 2.21 and switched my wireless connection to "off" and turned off Spybot Search and Destroy.

Made quite a bit of difference and now I'm up to 9630 3DMarks!
