lol.....these gaming benches are no comparison to real world gaming

at least with the fur renderer its a level playing field for all cards ...(if you wanna bench)
if not go & game !!!!!!!!!
dont run 3dmark & expect miracles in all games

I don't see any problems in benchmarking Crysis with ATI cards. They're good!

while I do agree with the bias, it's a good measure of the cards because it is such a demanding game. now with AA enabled, the ATI cards keep up nicely.

Crysis IMO is also better than 3dmark because it is a real game and not synthetic.

Except most synthetic benchmarks do not accurately simulate gaming performance in my humble opinion. An example is 3dmark06. An 8800GS can beat my 9600GT but you'll be damned if it can beat it in gaming performance.

I see that the 4870 & 4870x2 pack serious punch and plenty of horsepower w/o a doubt. But I want to point out if you look at any of the reviews or even at http://www.driverheaven.net/reviews....d=588&pageid=7 where the MIN. Frame Rates are posted the 280's are consistently ahead. As far as my human eyeballs are concerned I cant really discern a huge difference between 50 fps and 200fps aside from plotting it on a graph and staring at pretty lines, but once your below 30fps each frame lost the difference is noticeable.

crysis is misleading when you change brands of video cards.

if you are comparing two nvidia cards, by all means GO FOR IT

not nvidia vs. ati, nvidia will always win

I believe it's possible that Crysis favours NVIDIA cards.
There was a little thing, I forget where but it was a little interactive video and this commander guy would tell if your rig is good enough to play Crysis... I saw him say that 6600GT would do it but 8800 would be better and said the X1650 would be bale to take it...
In theory neither would...

lol why do you think they dont bench Lost Planet? coz its so heavily optimised for Nvidia that they dont bother. trust me, my 8800 GTX woops my mates 4870 in Lost Planet. for no other reason except drivers and optimisations.

i agree that Crysis favours Nvidia. i disagree that it should be completely revoked from testing though.

in my opinion, Crysis is one of the ultimate testing platforms in that it shows that if an ATI card is not only keeping up with but beating an Nvidia card, it must be bloody good given the level of optimisation Nvidia has in their favour.

besides, you guys should never judge your purchases solely off bench results anyway. guaranteed you will always meet disappointment.

lets suck in our pride and face it, as much as we hate to admit, Crysis is the best looking and most demanding game on the market at the moment, why not bench it.
