Default WTH is that nice graphics in 3DMark Vantage?!

Hello, I just tried 3D Mark vantage on my mid end system (performance preset) and I am quite disappointed by the performance vs graphics Either I am blind or they must be kidding in Futuremark The first test with some running agent Jane Nash looks like a 4years old (at least) game and I really don't have a clue where are those next gen effects which would justify my 2 fps Maybe I sound like a stupid, but trust me, I don't just write such things because my low score. I simply want to understand this because I have tested a lot of machines on many 3D marks and other benchmarks since 3D Mark99 and I think I do have some clue about a 3D technology. So please if you are more clever then me, tell me some short list of new directx features used in Vantage, because I really did not see them. I guess there is some one special DX10 option or something which GeForce8800 just does not have or barely supports its. The other thing that occured to me is that some very complex physics calculations (maybe water) may cause this blurry textured scene to be desperately slow like this... The other tests don't look much better and I must say that Vantage image quality cannot be compared even with 3DMark 06 :-\ I did not see the extreme settings yet, but sorry - this scene should be much faster.

The 8800 should handle it just fine, infact you're system should be quite good on it! what size is you're monitor? and what red did you test it at?

Uninstall drivers, reboot into safe mode, run driver cleaner pro to remove the rest of the left over driver files, reboot into windows, install the latest drivers from nvidia, reboot, run test again.

Its more or less about right that yano - maybe a tad low but not ovelrly so..

He put it on performance and its all dx10 shaders and lots of glow and high post processing going on - not to mention the lod ammounts in the fov.

Then there is all the water physics going on.

The cpu tests are a killer in vantage also - you dont get more than 3 4 fps when those things are at full in the tests.

I know it was a good card the 8800GTS and it cuts it still with games like cod4 - but for pure dx10 stuff its startin to show its age.

I just ran 3DMark 06 - 11198points :-\
But there really can be some driver problems, because I have chosen to update drivers from windows update and it could have been a mistake, because it displayed a couple of errors during install. I will try to reinstall it.

Nemes what do you mean by "lod amount of fov"? Are you sure the CPU is loaded by that water physics? I thought it may be prerecorded because the first test should be mainly on GPU...

What I mean is the LOD = level of detail in the major gpu tests stays the same at very high fov distances - that puts a lotta strain on the gpu & the cpu at great distances trying to keep the detail looking tight.

You can tell when the relief in the system comes as such a thing dies off for a few seconds when something close in to the screen coems by and takes the preasure of the long fov - the fps ramp back up then.
