Default My new hobby - 3Dmark 01 - Now who can help me tweak it?

I am having fun running 3dmark01. I ran it the first time and almost pooped myself. The score was lower than my 05 score

So I did some digging and it looks like 2001 is a very OS, and other software tweak dependent. Also many other things like the order you run the tests in etc.

So since I am a total n00b at 2001, any help or suggestions?

Yeah, I know it's "out of date" and not very current. But it's fun to see big numbers. And it sounds like it may take a bit more skill to crack into the top spots on Hwbot for this bench than some of the others. I am not very skilled at OS tweaking, and maybe this will be the driving force for me to learn some more.

If anyone else is interested in benching 01, there is an awesome article on page's 14\15 of the online magazine "The Overclocker"

In 01, you're going to be fairly limited by the software itself, since it can't use most of the newer optimizations. Also, the scores from one version of 3DMark can't be really compared to another, as they're arbitrary and change with each new version.

EDIT: Actually I think my score is 50k and not 70k because I don't have 4.5 GHz
