Is everyone just using trial editions of 3dmark06, Vantage, etc.? Seems to have a lot of features locked out. Are you guys buying full versions, or do you find the trial versions to be sufficient?
The only full version retail monitoring/benchmark program I have bought is Everest.

I am asking, because I want to develop a standardized graphics card OC stability testing protocol, for my own use. What sequence of tests would you say ensure as much stability as possible for my W/C GTX 295 OCing?

Most people are either running the trial edition or their card came with a key for 3dmark.

Otherwise it would be a pirated copy, obviously, which is bad.

The trial edition has the resolution locked and the settings locked - provided everyone else is using the trial, thats a fine benchmark. Nobody can change anything so the tests are identical.

I bought 06 and Vantage, but I use the trial editions of 03 and 05.

I am running 3DMark Vantage - Advanced, 3DMark 2006 Advanced

Both for free with my old mobo and GPU.

I got 2 copies of vantage keys with my old ddr 2 9600gso's way back when (ie a few months ago) I dont change the settings though jsut run it performance stock

I have the pro versions of 03, 05, 06 & vantage. The only advantages during testing are really the time it takes to run them when I can turn off the features that don't affect the score (cpu tests in 03 & 05, feature tests in vantage), 06 the only difference is the nag screen where you have to press continue.

The other difference is being able to submit scores without being limited to 5 submissions or whatever it is.

Just run the tests in order...@ full resolution with 'forced precision' and turnon you AA and AF in the options..run them looped for at least 40min. Either that or use the last SM3.0 test at full Q looped by itself..it will test shaders and mem to the limit for stability..the SM2.0 tests will do a bit better for stressing the core though..
