Default 3DMark06 Dropped nearly 3000 points?
Well I just ran 3DMark06 on a fresh install of W7 RTM with all the same drivers etc I had on my previous W7 install.

My last score was 20188 with my current rig. I run it now to find it won't get past 17800, I've run the test about 5 times..result varys between 20-50 points. Overclocked, stock clocks all tested. I don't understand what could be causing the prob. I can see frame drops from when I last run it, sometimes by 20+ frames.

Any ideas guys?

maybe there is a bad compatibility with the certain driver you're using.

Maybe I'll have to go download latest drivers for my MB. That's the only thing that could be out of date really. All other drivers are up to date. If that doesn't work I guess I'll format and try again..sigh. Thanks for the help so far guys.

Well I've just updated all my MB drivers and I ran 3DMark06 and got 17810.

Is that score right for my system? Was 3DMark06 just being generous when it gave me over 20k? Nothing as far as I know has changed..

Hey guys..sorry for tripple posting like this..last post was 3 days ago.

I've done a clean install of Windows 7, all fresh drivers and I can still not get over 17k points. I got 20k points many times before..what could the problem be?

Your system overclocked should be getting over 18k in my opinion.

Are all the drivers you were using when first getting 17k-ish the same drivers from the 20k runs?

Are you stripping the OS at all? (Not that this would make k's worth of difference in scores though)

Same Windows 7 RTM release as before?
