Default Mhz up, 3dmark06 down.

I have just installed 3dmark06 and ran it just because I was wondering what I would get with my current mhz.
This is what I got, I'm very disappointed.

I've done 3dmark06 quite a long time ago and I got 12113 3DMarks.
http://www.overclock.net/benchmarkin...-3dmark06.html

I don't understand. My Mhz went up ( CPU before - 3.25, Now - 3.4, GPU Mhz now are a bit higher than they used to be )
but my score went down BY ALMOST HALF!

Could it be the drivers or something?

It's your graphics card.
Your cpu score is fine.

CPU Score: 5169

Maybe the new nvidia 190 drivers made my score lower? Because I remember back when I got 12k 3dmarks I was using 18x.xx nvidia drivers.

Also, is that a good CPU score?

Also, what's a good program to check for video card stability? I've used ATITool a long time ago to check for artifacts. I'm sure there's something better out now.

My dual core at 3.8 scores 3.2-3.5 (been awhile since i've benched) but it looks about right. Also your cpu score at 3.2 to 3.4 reflects upon your 2 scores you have posted here.

I'm sure someone suggested furmark before but I heard that can be detrimental to your cards health. I personally would just use Crysis or something to stability test.

I'm still pissed. I have no idea why my score got worse. I upped the CPU mhz and graphics card mhz by a bit and my score went from 12k 3dmarks to 7k.

Did ya not read my post? :P It has nothing to do with overclocking your cpu.

Try rolling back to older nvidia drivers (might not decrease your frames or affect them at all), maybe your video card is overheating/dying or maybe it is an unstable overclock.

you have an unstable OC, try either upping your volts a tad more, or lower your GPU clocks.
