Default 3D Mark 03 : Why can't I get a decent score?

What do I need to do to get higher scores in 3D Mark 03? I see people with video systems a bit slower than mine and they are getting better scores. Is it the Catalyst? Is it the fact that I am running it at 4.1 and not higher? If we look at Patch, he is running his I7 at 5.0 with the GC on similar frequencies like mine. Except his core is 1020 mine is 1000. Does the 900 MHz CPU and 20 MHz GPU difference make up for the 41000 points he gets more than I ?

Thanks for the input. I am using all of them from 03 to Vantage. The % loss in 03 is higher than in the rest. I just want to see how I can tweak my system to get better results in 03.

I wouldn't worry about it. I'd just stick with 06 and Vantage.

That is an amazing score . Cheers lads for the feedback. I try to clock my CPU higher and run on XP next time I update the TOP 30 thread. Should I use XP 64 or 32? I would use 64 because I can use my 6GB . What do you lot think?

I think what people are saying is 03 does not matter, you shouldn't be tweaking your system or making adjustments just to score higher there--especially if it compromises your performance in other areas that DO matter.

If clockspeed is the most important thing, maybe sticking with 32-bit is better because most people can clock a bit higher that way.
