Hi Guys,

Just a quick question - ive recently downloaded and run the trial version of 3DMark Vantage. Given the rig in my signature, is a score of 10316 around what you would have expected ?.

Ive been searching around the forums for similarly specced systems, and I *think* that looks lower than I should be hitting. Im not particularly benchmark driven, but can anyone shed some light on whether a) this is correct and b) if not does it indicate something is wrong ?.

Ah yes, sorry guys ill post an image of the results tonight (im at work on my laptop at the mo), hopefully that will give you something better to go on.

-yup everything at default (i think - based on the fact that i cant change any of the settings with the trial key). The screen resolution was default, its 1280 x ? something, rather than the 1920 x 1200 i normally run at.

The only things i could think of were 1) My overclock is stable, but i left the memory clocked to standard speed using the divider that the BIOS gave it, i havent tightened up the timings yet, as i havent had time - i just dialled it in that way to get the overclock up and running 2) the GPU is clocked as standard, i havent OC'd that at all yet.

Try running it while at default speeds on everything, should be in the 17k range.

thanks Grunion ill try that. That would be a bit worrying though wouldnt it if i get higher results from stock speeds than i do with my overclock in place ?, what would cause that ?.

cheers Grunion. All the help i get on here is much appreciated. Id never even built a PC until about 6 months ago so this is pretty much a black art to me!. I think from memory i benched at 21,500 or thereabouts on 3D mark 06 with the same overclock - so the Vantage score is puzzling me a bit.

Ill run the overclock through another 6 hours of Prime95 after ive benched at stock speeds as well then.

Do you recall if physX was enabled?
Non physx score with a 295 will be ~5k less than a physx score.

ermmm. How do i tell if physX was enbaled - on the Nvidia control panel or as a configuration setting of Vantage ? - ive enabled it on the Nvidia control panel.
