Exclamation Need MAJOR Help with 3DMark06!!!!

Guys I need your brains together on this puzzle...Ok I benched my system yesterday, and prior to benching I uninstalled all my outdated mobo drivers(came on CD with board) and gfx card drivers(then ran driver sweeper to get all the left-overs)...So now all of the drivers for my MoBo and GFX card are all up to date, newest out...So then I went to run 3DMark 06 and and I got a measly 6000 3D marks...Now I know the 965 should be able to do more than 6000...WTH is going on? Ok prior to putting the build together I had windows installed on a Seagate 500GB HDD that was installed on the K9N2 and Kuma CPU...Am I getting such low marks b/c I have not done a re-format of windows and just running it as is? Games are perfect right now(though w/ low FPS I can still play in 3D without any chopiness), and I ran a RE5 benchmark and got nothing more that 40FPS...Mind you I am playing my games and running all benches with 3D enabled, so I know the FPS are supposed to be cut by half for the rendering of the left and right eyes..Any info would be great cause 6000 3D marks is silly low for a quad 965...Basically need to know why my marks are so low? Is it the install of windows on th HDD from the K9N2,then migrated to the new build? My MSI K9N2 board toasted on me and just built the new sig rig and just plugged up the HDD and it loaded so I uninstalled all drivers and sweeped them and then loaded newly updated ones, then benched w/ Mark06. Any help I will +1 cause this is just making me want to bang my head on something with a sharp edge I was getting around 19000 3D marks with my K9N2 + Kuma 3.0 O/C dual core, now 6000 marks with my new Asus board + Phenom X4 3.4 stock. I have a WD caviar 500GB drive I am using as a b/u for the crapgate drive. I can format the WD and install windows on there and try it out, but I just need confirmation from you gurus here. I hope that is just the issue b/c I know the drivers are all up to date and the PSU is fine and the board and CPU are brand new...Again any help will be greatly appreciated!!!

I just switched out a mobo my self. I had a hell of a time trying to get the newer 15.4x nForce drivers to install PCBus and Ethernet drivers properly. After two hours of uninstalling, sweeping drivers and reinstalling I went back to 15.2x drivers and everything is fine now.

I suggested you use the 15.26 drivers. http://www.nvidia.com/object/nforce_vista64_15.26.html

Thanks for the info, driver wise everything seems fine no conflics and downloaded from Asus's site. I have a HD that has my windows install on it and was just hoping for plug and play, till I found this...
http://wiki.answers.com/Q/Do_you_hav...ew_motherboard
Even though my new board is the same chipset just different manufactuer there still could be little errors here and there with the previous install of windows so I will have to reinstall fresh windows not to happy but hopfully after, my system should scream and give me some good 3D marks, 6000 3DMarks seems really low for a quad@3.4 stock + 9800GTX+...+1 for the tip in case a fresh install still noes not help!!!

yeah I had a similar problem when I wanted to install a new mobo. It started to create weird problems, like my display drivers would crash constantly, when I ran 3dmark06 the FPS would fluctuate wildly giving me inaccurate scores. I first thought I had a flaky mobo, because I went to driver sweep and wiped out all the old drivers from my previous mobo.

When i decided to give reformatting a try, everything worked perfectly again and even though I cant explain why, I decided to ask any more questions and just be happy I didnt have to RMA the thing...

Anyways best of luck on that new quadcore!

Thanks for the replies, it turns out I did a format and reinstalled windows and all seemed alot better...But now My 3D Mark scores are still in the 6000 range so I decided to buy a new PSU b/c my rails are fluxing too too much, 12v is 11.3-11.8, 5v is 4.8-4.93, 3.3v is 2.9-3.1, and also in my BIOS I set my CPU to 1.40v and while in windows w/ PC probe on I am only getting 1.35 to the CPU, so deff a PSU fault!!!

lol no, those readings for 12v,5v, and 3.3v are normal. The drop from BIOS to Windows is called vdrop and is totally normal as well.

So what your saying is my PSU is fine? I was told otherwise and the 12,5,3.3v should not be jumping like frogs...I already ordered the Rosewill 950w today to verify, should be here on Friday...It just does not make sence why I am scoring so low with my sig rig...

Hmm I say if you still have your old PSU manual, check that to be sure. If you dont you can always download off the internet.

I would hold off on buying another PSU... (they are getting pretty cheap tho)

Yeah my EX GF gave me some $$$ for an early Christmas present and I picked up this:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817182096
So if it's not the PSU then I will have a b/u in case the new one dies on me, still no $$$ out of my pocket. Plus I have a case running 4X120mm fans and 2X140mm fans + 2 internal HDD's + an optical DVD drive and like 6 usb's being used..If I go to use one of the usb's on the top by the power button my case turns everything on then switches right off and it keeps doing this over and over untill I take out the usb on the top...
