Default Is 11k 3dMark Vantage score good? i7 920 & GTX 260 --- Screenshot included.

On 3dMark Vantage's default settings, I get a score of 11318. My computer is in my signature. Is this any good? I have absolutely no idea, it's just an arbitrary number to me.

Not when compared to Core i7 965 rigs with 5970' in Crossfire.

I wouldn't go off synthetice benchmarks though.

Well, I don't really care how it performs compared to different rigs I care how it performs compared to an identical rig.

What's wrong with Vantage? Isn't that what everyone uses for their benchmark?

Your score is not that good. i7 920 is better than my Amd PhenomII 955. Your cpu score is lower. If you want better scores oc the cpu a little.

im calling BS, you have a crossfire system so no physx capabilities, his CPU score is inflated to 44k because physx is enabled, with PPU disabled he would be at around 22k probably, even with my i7 920 oced to 4.6ghz with HT on I don't pass over 30k so there is no way your phenom is beating 44k unless you have a dedicated physx card

its an alright score, disable ppu next run and do some overclocking and compare it to score on hwbot.org

Someone correct me if Im wrong but I believe it means Physics processing Unit which is a setting that activates Physx processing on your GPU instead of CPU.

Because only NVidia cards can activate physx on the GPU they recieve higher CPU scores in 3d mark vantage. This creates an unfair advantage for Nvidia cards in 3d Mark vantage that inflates their score. Because of this official ranking engines like ORB or Hwbot don't allow physx enabled scores.

Okay, without PhysX, my CPU score is 18682 and GPU score is, again, 9961.

Is this any good? While my average FPS was 29.11, it dipped below 10fps several times during the GPU tests. And this is just at default 3dMark Vantage settings.
