It was a good Wednesday & Thursday

Yesterday I got my 1995 Contour SE, finally. 220K miles on the body, 26K on the drive-train

I also ended up taking home a Trek chromoly 21-speed moutain bike, and 4 old Pentium/II systems.

Today I bought a 157 piece tool set from Sears for $105 out the door, skateboarded for a bit up at Ranney, sold some more of my 360 stuff, worked, got a big paycheck, stripped out the Probe's rear seats, and fixed my bike's brakes.

So as you might be aware if you read this post, I had multiple hard drive failures in my house on the same day. After hours of messing around trying to get the drives to work, I finally settled to running off a Knoppix CD I had for a one older machine, then using my dad's laptop to burn the newer Knoppix DVD to run off my sig rig, to get basic access to my computer while the drives are off for RMA.

I've been using Knoppix for about a week now, full time, and seriously, I owe Klaus Knopper...

There's something to be said about rooting for the underdog. In some ways, I suppose it's a bit like the rush a gambler feels (not that I'd really know): Knowing that the odds of a favorable outcome are against you naturally exaggerates the tension before any kind of resolution occurs.

Of course, a distinction must be made between rooting for an underdog and hoping against the inevitable. There is a fine line between optimism and baseless hope.

Look at me this is my 6th post in like 5 days, I am becoming my own worst nightmare. But since no one is reading these anyways, got another long day sleep it 30 hours away with 16 hours of work then 4-5 more hours at the hospital...
