Back to school again!

Posted 08-30-09 at 12:01 AM by BlankThis

Well it's back to school again for me on Monday. Mixed feelings about it but should be a good final year to my high school career (grade 11, we only go that high). Looking to find a new lady friend hopefully. There's one I've been interested in for ages but she doesn't feel the same... Maybe just maybe this year

So I hope everybody had a good summer and good luck with your studies

Bottleneck fantasy

Posted 08-29-09 at 07:47 AM by Pir (Random thoughts and misc events all crammed into a blog)

Here i go again, the path we know all to well, the everlasting search for top performance for wich we spend our last money on. Once again i felt the urge to buy some new hardware to gain a few fps in a game no one can run at full speed (you guessed it, it is Crysis) Now what is that thing that drives us all to stand out from the crowd by owning the fastest system in a 100 mile radius?
Honestly i don't know what enables that drive. Even my 15 yr old son has that same urge, even though he owns...

Thermalright VGA cooling on a 4890

Well the results are in and lets just say that it was a much more involved upgrade than I originally thought that it was going to be. While I had originally planned on removing my cpu heatsink to apply MX-3 to it, I had no idea that the VRM-R2 would make contact with my 120x38mm Panaflo (which I had also planned on making a shroud for). Ultimately, I changed the fan from a push to a pull configuration and based upon what I have read in the forums here, that's going to cost me 1-2C in the end....
