Fanboy haters are just as bad as fanboys.

Posted 08-11-08 at 07:17 PM by Croft

Don't get me wrong, I hate fanboys, but there is a new breed of users on this site that are just as bad. Let me give a 'theoretical' example:

Bob: Yeah, one time I had a driver problem with Ati...
Steve: ZOMG NVIDIA FANBOY JOO ARE EVIL I HATE YOU I HATE YOU I HATE YOU

Obviously, this is a hyperbole, but it is getting very annoying.

i see where you're coming from, and personally im a "fanboy hater" but not in the direct sense as displayed above.

i tend to counter argue fanboys with logical answers. not deliberately, i dont hunt for fanboys, but when i see a big one, i do tend to focus my argument towards them, only if i have a reasonable and logical argument to fight with.

fanboy haters are just as bad, yes, but only in the sense described above.

in my opinion, there is nothing worse than a hardcore fanboy flying through, destroying a perfectly good thread.

sometimes, things are best left unsaid, just a quiet dismissal and a pardon me, on my way.

sometimes, theres no other choice, but to punch someone in the face.

A lot of people give flack to "fanboys" (including myself), but I don't honestly see a problem with being a "fanboy". Just as long as your not making stuff up because of it.

i dont have a problem with "fanboys" in the sense that someone is a dedicated fan and committed to a certain product. thats your choice.

i just seriously hate it when people decide that because they like one product, every single other opposing product sucks, and they cant give a good or mature reason for why it does suck, or maybe bring up some random distant fact from the past that how no relevance today.

if you dont like something and prefer something else over it, fine. feel free to discuss your opinions, offering valid argumentative points. but dont enforce them, its lame and annoying and it destroys threads. too many do it, their eyes light up at "ATI runs hot" and fly in "yeah coz they suckk buy nvidia" as an example.
