I'm getting a loan to pay off all my credit cards and to only have one payment with one interest. It should help my credit out. I did have a credit card that I was never able to make the minimum payment on. I'll be so happy to get them payed off. I never want a credit card again.

The best way to improve your credit rating is to simply make your payments on time. And I mean all payments; missing a cable bill payment is just as harmful as missing a credit card payment.
Having credit cards is good for your credit history, by the way. You have to have credit in order to generate a credit history. The trick is simply to not treat them like free money, obviously. Pay off your entire balance every month. If you can't do that, then you're spending too much money. In that event, create a budget and stick to it. If you find yourself to be so undisciplined that you can't do it, then it may be time to cut up the cards... |
