You guys wouldn't have believed my marks the past 2-3 years, horrible, but I managed to gain something like 20% more on my average, so from mere 60s to 80s and I think that my new attitude and mindset towards school is really paying off, and here's my reward XD.

My response:

I personally like PART of the competition aspect because I guess like athletes, it pushes the individual folding to... well do good for mankind. But the whole like, "I does liek 2k moar WU tehn u n00b", is plain stupid, it seems to me like if you have more points, then your automatically better then all the people below you and your the king, when whats really important is that people are contributing.

"First we will be best, and then we will be first." - Grant Tinker

The only thing that matters is that your folding when you can and that you are folding instead of the average Joe who just gives 10 bucks to various causes just because their asking for money. We are the people actually getting involved in the execution of the "Big Plan" to stop/cure cancer, Alzheimer, etc.

I do think that you should be proud of your points and just your points. The point isn't to surpass the guy above you, but to do it for the cause or whichever reason why you started and that your points mean that YOUR doing a good job and YOUR contributing as the amount of work you do is adding up and that your really helping and doing something, and I think that people just seem to forget that.

I think that we should see folding as an activity that we do on our spare time, or you have a dedicated machine, where your with your friends and contributing to a good cause at the same time and most importantly, that your action is actually helping everyone around the world and your kids, or their kids, on your computer's spare time, which just makes me feel good that so many people are doing it as folding can only help us move forward and gain some ground on these diseases to finally get rid of them.

I encourage people to just look back to why you started folding, or for who you started folding and think that you and ~250,000 CPUs are constantly folding for that person or for that reason because that's really what matters and that, is why your folding and you should never forget that.

My response:

I wouldn't get accustomed to this way of resolution as bad things can happen, especially regarding your scholarship. Consider yourself lucky and the academic star/role model to your peers and the staff at your school, just be careful and be conscious to what's at stake. I'd think that your being watched more then the regular Joe sitting beside you.

"Let us thank God that we live in an age when something has influence besides the bayonet." ~Daniel Webster

A.K.A. tell someone of authority and let them know you cannot concentrate and that he's impeding on your capability to learn and you don't know how to properly deal with him. But now it might be a bit harder.

So although you got a temporary "high" out of this, just think twice and don't stoop down to his level of "immaturity" as you called it as violence is immature, no?

I think that no one said anything as they're potentially in the same boat and you just got to him first. BUT that doesn't make you the hero. Sure he was asking for it and did that on purpose but your now equal to him as you responded to his action, he won.

The kid just needs attention as he's either insecure or doesn't do well and he's acting the part to cover it. That's all he wants, attention and if you react to what he does, he's winning as your feeding him with your reaction. If you tell a joke to a group of people and no one laughs but you, doesn't it feel awkward? Well make him feel the same. I can prove this as just look when he goofs off, he's usually going to turn to his friends, or who ever is laughing to feed on their laughter which says, "Look, we made people laugh, we're cool and fitting in." Don't give this to him.

Although he'll never admit that that's what's really going on and that he's insecure, you just have to think about what I said and know your better then him and that he's just insecure. At least you understand why he's like that and it shouldn't bother you that much anymore as your better then him.

I was once the class clown, not as bad as the Middle Eastern fellow in your class but I'd clown around however I never physically nor emotionally hurt someone, finally realizing that was an issue of mine, I learned and surpassed it. So knowing that, you know your better then him as you generally know who you are and are comfortable with yourself and just don't let the imp bother you (the really meaning of imp, no reference to WoW :P).

So if he does it again, be the bigger man and go speak with your principal, or the equivalent to a principal as I don't know how a Catholic school works, or a teacher that you feel comfortable talking to. It's not stooling him out or anything if your worried about that, you just want to learn and he isn't allowed to take that away from you.

Thats just a life lesson that I've learned in high school, perhaps a bit too late.

I hope this helps you or someone else in some way and just think positive and do what you gotta do!

^ Times two Muahahaha

This blog entry is basically an update from: http://www.overclock.net/intel-memor...e-crucial.html

I've had one of the best RMA experiences with Crucial, like it topped my list of best customer service (unlike creative, haha i joke, don't flame) experiences.

Well she ended up sending me some 16 chip tracers, BUT i asked for the new revision of RAM (without the clip as they squeeze the heat spreaders off) because I didnt want to take the gamble of having this problem again. But what ended up coming in the mail, ONE FRIGGEN DAY from the US to Quebec, Canada might I add, was some 16 chip old rev. of Tracers with the clips and as you probably already guessed, I got the same problem as before.

I emailed them and it took longer then usual.... Got an email back that I had two options, get some store credit for my RAM, or to try and RMA again but send my old ones first. Out of frustration I put some knowledge onto my RAM, a big arse physics textbook and a chemistry one :P and out off sheer hate for the design, a 45lb dumbbell and left it overnight. After taking off the books, what do you know, all 4 sticks were good to go!

Emailed them back and they said that with my authorization, we can cancel the RMA or go through with the RMA anyways. So thinking about when I asked her if I could trade my 2gig for 4gig when she said that she didnt have any 1066 16 chip sicks and she said she couldn't as she can only do a 2gig to 2gig trade, I thought that she was giving them to me unofficially, maybe thats why she stopped answering my emails and let someone else do it (why it took longer). LOL maybe I'm wrong but maybe I'm right XD. Maybe there was a reason she shipped my RMA like supa quick and changed carrier and used the slowest method to send me a prepaid shipping to send my old ones back, and how come it says that you need to ship your old RAM back and have it analyzed before they send you a new pair ;) .

So I went ahead and canceled it and asked if there was anything I had to do before we were "done", just to make sure. Well got an email back and she canceled the RMA and I had nothing to do! So I got an extra 2gig for free! To put it in perspective, thats 84 student dollars for free!!! Like 9.8hs of work for free!

IDK but that's pretty sweet and try to deal with Marcie as she's defiantly the coolest CS (customer service) person to deal with, like she's "Kick a$$" like Rodney Reynolds would say.

Anyways, GO CRUCIAL!!!
