Well i'm excited!
Got a fresh new battery for my aging laptop and some new RAM. Pretty peppy again at this point in time, or rather it would be if the HARD DRIVE HADN'T DECIDED TO CONK OUT
Fast forward 7 hours after realizing it...
Recovery installs and various other methods don't seem to be working. Looks like the drive is kaput.
Will be booting into Hardy soon to see if i can at least salvage my class notes and a few other files I'd rather not lose.
if that doesn't work, i get to try the freezer method.

okay, it's hard dead.
mounted it in Hardy and was barely able to pull just my classnotes before the thing gave I/O errors up the bum. on the plus side, my obsessive backup habits help out. |
