Apple is awesome.

Posted 03-07-08 at 09:29 PM by RickJS

I don't understand why some people hate apple so much. Really I don't. Some people have given reasons, though there dumb reasons. And some people have just told me they hate apple for no reason at all.

As soon as you start talking about the iphone or something apple-related someone has to go and say apple sucks. So you decide to defend apple for whatever reason you have but they give you no reason. Just that they will never buy any apple products in their life and won't listen to you. Now the people with a reason tell you because of some bad thing apple has done in the past, as if microsoft or sony or any other company has never done wrong. There are times when you should boycott a company or something to that effect but people just hate on apple for no reason and they make great products. With apple its not just about the function of the device(though its important), its about the looks too. You wouldn't buy this would you?

    Yes they will.

There are bigger and better things out there. And they are also growing. One example is phones. Phones are getting better, smaller, faster, and hell of alot better. They, imo, will be the ones to wipe out the Ipod fad first. If not another music player brand.

And @ Marin - I said "they arn't going to disapear". People will still use ipods - I never said no one wouldn't. But - even with the new looks and the yearly update - if you havent knowticed they've been climbing in price yearly too. Not to mention other gadgets like cell phones are getting alot more advanced WAYYYYY past Ipods.

Look at the Iphone. As much as I dislike Apple, even their own product pretty much defeats the purpose of buying their other products.

I still don't see your point! I would defiantly go for a flagship 160GB iPod classic over a 8GB iPhone.

You are actually wrong, iPods used to sell for $300 at the low end version. But now they are priced at $250 for an 80gb.

All of your so called arguments are just ignorant opinions which have no logic to them.

You were stating your opinions as facts.

As I mentioned before, you are entitled to your opinion by all means as long as you can support it.

And I did. But obviously like most people on here, even with supporting statements - if you disagree it's obviously false.

    Fact.

Guys I'd love to debate this, but umm...a blog post isn't the place. I didn't think people would read this anyway.

It doesn't require a valid argument to say you like or dislike something. The only person you have to convince is yourself.

Now if you are debating with someone why Apple is not as good as X, then you should have a valid argument.

My reasons for not buying Apple products:

    1. Price - You pay a huge premium because Apple is "in".
    2. Control - Apple has tight control on the software on all of its products.
3.User Maintenance - Most Apple products have horrible user maintenance, for example, you cannot change the battery on a iPod. Once it wears out, you are out of luck.
    4. Software - In the case of the Ipod, I do not want all sorts of required software to use the ipod. I would prefer simple drag and drop functionality.

There are a few more, like Apple's unwillingness horrible file system on their OS and their poor maintenance cycle.

This is the most interesting blog post ever.

Macs are kind of fun to mess around with, but I have gotten so used to Windows that I can't switch. Plus, they cost more, and I just don't have that kind of money. For out of the box functionality and use-ability, though, I don't think they can be beaten. Nowhere near the amount of bloatware as a typical pre-built PC, and some great bundled software, such as Garage Band.
