D3DAiM,

My man, you have are a gifted builder. That was an excellent showing of custom workmanship.

As for that Lian Li case (the one with the puuurrrty bottom); you took an already hot case and turned it into a smokin' enclosure, one with an awesome amount of eye-candy.
  • Chrome conversion - I never knew....I wanty!
  • The custom shroud you made was nothing short of professional-grade.
  • The addition of the handles was great! ....and they fold down!
  • Lapping!
  • Naked!
  • Awesome German cooling components. Yup, that was good advertising for them; I added them to my wishlist.

Bro... you made great use of the time extension. Well done. I am glad that I waited, and that Admin provided extra time. We all would have missed out on a job well done.

I would like to add that you have the elite electrical modding skillz. Impressive hard-mod on the 7800GT, the PSU LCD, and the DIY voltage regulator.

Make sure you sandpaper the hole, and then put some U rubber over it to avoid sharp edges. Put some grease around the newly drilled hole, and then screw your computer, screw it hard. Maybe install some UV lights and turn em up to indicate that your computer is also excited.

I thank you, and I am glad that you have noticed my attention to meticulous detail. It is that very characteristic almost disallowed me in my entry in the competition. Howver, relativity prevailed. Thanks for the comment!!

This is the exact think I had making this mod. I wanted the mod to be conventional and put to use for all my needs. If it meant even losing in the competition, I was willing to take that chance. It is definitely a fun case!

Thanks for the gonX approval man!!

My thought is exactly. A Lian Li cleanliness, yet my own modded approach.

Your comment makes me blush, however, I cannot take the title.

I've seen so many other cases with outstanding detail..so magnificantly done.

My mod is but one step in the path.

Turned out good. It all has more gloss in real life.

For those who want to know how I got a mirror finish, here are my steps:

sand -> acetone if necessary -> prime coat 1 -> prime coat 2 -> paint coat one -> paint coat 2 -> paint coat 3 -> wetsand 800 grit -> 1000 grit -> 1500 grit -> 2000 grit -> buff with buffer wheel -> glaze -> carnuba wax

I used Rustoleum Professional Primer and Black Gloss paint, 3M Perfect It III Rubbing Compund, 3M Hand Glaze, and Mother's Carnuba Wax (any carnuba wax will work).
ooohh!!! Thank you for this.! I just re-read your work log for like the 4 time and saw this. Very nice little summary of painting tips. I especially like it because I am going to do a bit of painting myself this week. Thanks!
