Heh...
Well I had high hopes about that part of the mission. The Abit AA8XE/660 combo was looking pretty solid...until I shutdown and the water damage wiped out the entire unit. Then the Fx57/A8NSLI had been sweet at 2750 on stock cooling so I had very high hopes for that combo. However I mistakenly fired the rig and started benching thinking the phase was on when it was not (it is really quiet and our house is really loud--that's my story  ) and came back from morning constitutional to find the rig frozen, but not the way I was expecting. The temp readout on the phase read 55C--after almost 5 minutes of cool down--so I have a feeling the processor suffered from overheating.Now I am having a serously hard time getting much over stock from the gear. It will POST at 2500 but nothing much above that and so far I have only been able to load into Windows at 2475. I have run SP2004/ Memtest, Sandra burn-in, various benchmarks and nothing shows errors or crashes. Nonetheless if I push any higher it always freezes after reaching the Wlecome screen. So whatever is going on it is not making for stunning OCs... It could be that the FX is not damaged--but that it does not like cold...or maybe some over issue that I am overlooking. So the quest for a deep frozen OC continues...in fact it has only begun!

I'm confused here. An FX-57 is stock at 2800mhz...
Anyways VERY nice case cyberd! That thing looks like a piece of furniture lol.

I don't know AMD that well yet. But if I had wanted a Sandy I would have bought one--I wanted an FX57. In BIOS when set to Auto it clocks itself to 200 x 11 (2200) so that is the baseline from which I started. I would not be surprised if I got a sandy passed off on me...I was buying so much stuff and I was out of town so who knows...

Sorry to hear about your earlier misadventures,
but congrats on your new box build. It's awesome. The FX-57 does have a SanDiego core but I would think it defaults to 2.6 or 2.8 vs 2.2. Hopefully she gets dialed in. I'll be keeping an eye out on this thread.

well if its reading as a 3700+ sandy and is at sandy clocks, i am pretty sure you got a sandy
