I am looking forward to running the Quad on an LC loop first to see where the temps are...no way to monitor temps with phase really...most of the BIOS just say 0...although I have heard that others display crazy temps that allow you (but deduction) to determin an aproximate temp.

I would like to see something affordable that monitors subzero temps...

Well it's a sad story..the board I was running (MSI) would not let me into BIOS!
It was a reccomended board that I bought open box--now I know wh that box was open

It would boot fine but no way to get into BIOS--I tried all the tricks. Probn sent me a modded BIOS from some German OCers,,,but by then I had recieved the AW9D-Max and had moved on to C2D and amazing Super Pi scores

So no report on the 3700+ which has long been given to another OCer...

Ahh, I see.
Thanks for the lil update cyber.

So thats the story eh? - strange.

What was it - it just WOULDNT let the bios come up when you pressed the relevant button? (F1,F2/Del) ?
OR... was it Passworded or something?

Tis a darn shame though - Ive heard those chips (3700s are great Ocers, so I'd LOVE to see what could be achieved by phase).

Maybe some other time eh Cb?

So, was it those batch of Cd2s that you got 4GHZ and such on?

Oh man it was no batch...I still have that same E6600 in the sys I call Ghost (Abit FP190 HD MicroATX)/ I briefly owned an E6300 that a friend had to have...it was amazing--3.1 on stock volts on LC.

The Q6600 was really purchased to generate heat to test my LC kits before I merch them out. I am an honest guy and if I say my LC kit is Quad Ready it will mean testing it with a Quad

Whatta a great excuse hunh? How cna the wife argue that--it's for the biz honey.

But after it is done testing Fans on my Tech Station and testing my latest desin for the 900 I will pop it into ICE...not sure about the Delux going in there--the bud I gave the E6300 and P5k too really wanted the Deluxe so I amy just trade him back as that P5K is the best OCer since the P4P800SE...

SO although I have it m sys specs ATM it may not end up there

I don't really need the RAID that the Deluxe offers--I have a card for that...and I don't need WIFI I have a card for that..so there is no real benny to me running the Deluxe short of bragging rights (like I need)....

Ahh. I see

Well, I'd really love to see you do your thing with the E6600 (I'm a n00b - is THAT the deluxe?)

I can just imagine what could happen when it reaches the crazy hands of a demented mad Ocer scientist like yourself .

lol I am headed toward DDR2 1000 I feel

Pros and cons of the Antec...that would take a seperate thread lol.

ICE is hungry..she spit out the bones of the Aw9D-Max and wants something else to digest...

Although the AW9D-Max still runns and is lovely to look at it no longer will OC stable...

The CPU seems fine however.

THe new Quad just arrived today. I am stoked.

But ICE will have to wait as I have more work for the Q before attempting to destroy some OC records...

I hear that currently many Phase Change coolers can't handle quad core? Is this true, cause if it is true... ICE could not possibly cool it.
