I totaly support your project and endeavours, I'm going to check US Plastic out as well, I just paid $21USD a foot for 2 1/2" Acryliic CAST tubing, dunno if it's good, but it's 6' minimum and that hurts!

This is lookin good. Only real comments would be that if you are custom making a top, why not just have it for the entire length of the case, including the io panel?
Also...first thought that came to mind was if you're planning on moving this into a production, then why not look seriously at doing cast molding? Obviously, the upfront cost is something that can't be taken lightly, but you probably could get away with making this out of an acrylic panel that's molded a bit.
