The way I am going to do it is to make a 3.5 bay in the fiberglas hood I am making...that way an LCD or whatever can go there...

I got two big boxes of some intensely cool stuff today--resevoirs, glow juice, all kinds of goodies...but you will have to twiddle intently until tomorrow as Imust turn in and get some downtime--14 hours on the go today and I am feeling it!
More soon!

Me neither--I have nearly everything now--I decided to upgrade to SilenX fans--they turned out to be For Real quiet. So I am now trying to set up ordering direct with the factory. COnsidering the exhorbitant price and my need for 2 dozen of them....I gotta hope.
Been using Velocitor as a test rig for some ideas...took the front panel off and unwrapped on e of the grills from mnpcTech.com to take a look--I can see I will have my work cut out for me here. ![]() The grill is 1/8" wider than the face panel--a simple trim will let is pop right in--ditto height. The real challenge is the fugly black plastic thing the fans snap into. ![]() So I am thinking of different ways to mount the fan and grill in a pro manner. One easy solution is to paint the plastic parts to color match either the fan or the case and grind off the little nubs and screw the grill to the fan using small spacers (to lessen cavitation noise). Another option is to make up a mounting for the fans out of aluminum that's pop rivetted to the bays--tap and thread that and use machine screws. I want to keep the bays removable by thumbscrews and all that jazz. Still in Progress.. He grills are neat looking--but the black plastic insert might have to go... Now if the case was painted bright yellow and the grills were painted to match that might look sweet...it's an aesthetic decision.
