Default [Project] My armor's big adventure

ALL ADDITIONS TO THIS LOG WILL BE EDITED INTO THIS FIRST POST
Well, when I got this bad boy, i threw everything in 'managing' cables in an effort to have it look as nice as possible while not further postponing hitting the power button. for months till now it looked like:

So, when I went home for spring break, I had to shove this guy in my car...... wasn't easy, and cut me, deep, twice (at least a mm deep). These guys wouldn't stop bleeding..

-Cable Management-

So When I got home, my dad (thank god) bought me reinforced cutting wheels....
That one line took me a whole wheel.... steel tears these up compared to the cheap aluminum cases im used to. heh..

Here it is after I made the two cuts...
[/URL]

And then when I got all the guts back in.......

And then with the side on......

......
And then I zip-tied the front panel wires..

Edit: Temps dropped 2C

REAR EXHAUST AIRFLOW INCREASE

(GRILLS REMOVED)

step 1: the ultra scientific way of measuring CFM's........ before i started cutting around this fan, i first measured its air flow...

then I cut the grill off using my handy dandy dremel (not the prettiest but its the back of my case. so oh well)

So now, when I did a test for air flow, my readings were a lot better
notice the little fold in the paper i was using is going the other way, not providing (if the previous way did) lift.... so I would say its about twice as much air flow

I also cut the plastic grill for the top mounted fan, adding more airflow. Eventually I will cut the metal grill, but for now, the added airflow is good enough for me.

Edit: its now cut

Could you explain exactly what you did. It looks to me that you cut the mobo tray so that you could hide the wires back behind it?

Looks way better after! You should paint the inside of the case, it looks so much better after. The only bad thing about this case is that it can almost be to big unless you have a lot in it, painting it helps that IMO. Check my work log for a few of the thing I've done.

They do take a little pressure to get off. As I recall I used a small flat head screw driver to pry them off.

Put the cathode behind the bar, so that the cathode isn't directly visible.
Also, your temps will drop 1 or 2 c if you leave off the cathode. So you may want to add a switch to the back panel to turn it on and off when you feel the need.

I did, but it is an L bracket, so it blocks the light shining down. I am gonna cut the bottom off so light will shine, and then put it back there. and i do have the switch... but thanks for the input
